I was one of those people who always insisted that hard copies were superior to eBooks, but it became pretty hypocritical of me considering I have an eBook for sale on Amazon. I don’t really buy that many eBooks, but I do download lots of free ones, and since I put my name on the indie book review site, I’ve been getting lots of free copies to review, and sometimes I just don’t feel like reading it on my computer.
I just got the most basic Kindle, the cheapest one they have. It has the same charger as my phone, which is wonderful, and I can make the font small enough that I don’t have to change the page too fast even though I’m a pretty fast reader. The only problem is that they don’t sell cases small enough for that Kindle in stores (it’s 6 inches) so I had to get a bigger case that zips up, rather than the notebook-like cases you usually see.
I will now spend the following vacation time dealing with learning how to use a touch screen :p
If you find you don’t like your case, I got this one for my Kindle almost 2 years ago:

I’ll probably end up getting a case like that, but for right now I just wanted something that will see my Kindle to Florida since the stores didn’t have anything small enough and I wasn’t going to pay $20 in shipping to get something from Amazon in time to leave.

I love my Kindle, but I do read physical books more. I got my Kindle a year ago and got the first one. I didn’t wanted an updated one because I don’t care about the apps and such. I just want to read.

Yeah, my mom was trying to convince me to get a regular tablet to go online and everything but I didn’t want that. I got the basic one and immediately read a short story… but then I switched over to a paperback. 🙂

I will never stop buying hard copies of books, but I do love my Kindle. Mine is several years old now, but I just got a pretty new case for Christmas.

I tried so hard to get into ebooks. I got a nook back when they were new, and used it for a few months. Never could shake the preference of having a physical book in my hands, but it’s always a pretty good choice for traveling, at least, instead of packing a bagful of books. 🙂

I don’t think I’m going to start using it more than paperbacks, but now I can read all my free eBooks as well without having to read it on my computer, which is nice.
